““going through a difficult period””
Ukrainian drone strikes ignited a blaze at a major oil refinery in southern Russia on Sunday, according to local authorities, after debris from intercepted unmanned aircraft fell on the facility in Krasnodar region. Two people were reportedly killed and another wounded. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky claimed a second refinery in Yaroslavl was also hit. These attacks are part of Kyiv’s intensifying campaign to disrupt Russian energy infrastructure and fuel supplies, which Western analysts say has slowed Moscow’s battlefield progress and increased pressure for peace talks. Speaking at a party congress in Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin acknowledged the country is facing hardship, while vowing that the government would still meet all its social commitments to citizens.
