Mohammed bin Salman says "prioritize dialogue to reduce escalation" US should avoid war with Iran
“the need to prioritize dialogue to reduce escalation and the importance of making every possible effort to achieve calm that paves the way for diplomatic solutions”

During a Sunday phone call, Saudi Arabia’s crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman, reportedly urged President Donald Trump to avoid letting the standoff with Iran turn into a broader war. Trump said he abandoned a planned major strike after regional allies pushed for a negotiated outcome. According to Saudi state media, the prince stressed that Washington should avoid further escalation and leave room for talks. A person familiar with the call told Al Jazeera that MBS feared U.S. strikes on Iranian energy infrastructure would trigger Iranian retaliation against Gulf oil and gas sites. The appeal followed recent attacks on Saudi facilities and an Iranian state-media report describing a response plan that named Gulf energy installations as potential targets.
