Mark Rutte says he is coordinating with allies on "air defences they urgently need"

Ukraine reported striking oil refineries deep inside Russia overnight as part of a campaign to pressure Russia’s war effort, while Russian attacks killed 17 people in the Kyiv region and at least three more elsewhere, authorities said. Kyiv region held a day of mourning. UN offices in Kyiv said civilian casualties have risen sharply this year because of long-range Russian airstrikes. Ukrainian officials say only Patriot interceptor missiles can stop the ballistic missiles Russia has used, but the Iran war has drained stocks. President Zelensky said he discussed urgent interceptor procurement with NATO chief Mark Rutte and Finland’s president. Rutte posted on X that he was coordinating with allies to maintain supplies of anti-missile systems for Ukraine. Ukraine also claimed hits on Russian patrol boats and shadow-fleet vessels.
