Donald Trump: "At the end of the day, we need to elect JD"

Vice President JD Vance has been making frequent media appearances to discuss Communion, his new book about joining the Catholic Church. In a Fox News interview, he described what he considered supernatural moments, recounting that his car nearly slid over a mountainside after his grandmother’s funeral before stopping safely. The book tour has renewed attention on his political future. The Washington Post reports that President Donald Trump told donors during an Oval Office conversation that the party ultimately needs Vance as its standard-bearer, a comment that has intensified focus on the 2028 Republican contest. Secretary of State Marco Rubio remains close behind in prediction markets. Vance has also acknowledged joking about a Fox News commentator and tied his remarks to Christian teachings.
