Benjamin Netanyahu says Israel will "stand on my own two feet and resist" Gaza ceasefire plan

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected the US-brokered Gaza ceasefire roadmap, telling his cabinet on Sunday that Israel will not pull troops out until Hamas is fully disarmed. President Donald Trump had claimed a breakthrough after Egypt, Qatar and Turkey mediated a 15-point plan linking Hamas disarmament to a gradual Israeli pullout. Hamas says it will surrender weapons only after Israel fulfills commitments including leaving Gaza. According to Channel 13, Netanyahu also told ministers last month he would not yield to American requests to withdraw forces from Gaza, Syria and Lebanon, facing pressure from Israel’s far-right to keep fighting. The standoff adds a further obstacle to Trump’s peace effort, with Israeli elections months away.
