Volodymyr Zelensky says Putin intends to mobilize "several hundred thousand Russians" by year's end

Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine carried out a major overnight strike on the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk using seaborne drones and other advanced weapons, targeting defensive positions, dock areas, and harbor infrastructure. Russian regional officials said hundreds of drones were launched toward several coastal areas, with more than 500 shot down and two people killed in the Krasnodar region. Separately, in a social media post, the Ukrainian president said intelligence indicates that Vladimir Putin intends to order an accelerated extra call-up of hundreds of thousands of Russian troops before year’s end. He added that Moscow is increasing output of ballistic missiles and drones that are difficult for Ukrainian defenses to stop, while Ukraine is working with partners to expand its own arms production. The statements came amid ongoing US diplomatic efforts and mutual overnight aerial attacks.
