Donald Trump says “I have a threat all the time” on plane switch after reported threat

President Trump confirmed reports that, after last month’s NATO summit, security officials moved him to a different military aircraft in Ankara, Turkey, because of a purported Iranian threat. According to the president, the Secret Service and military wanted him to switch planes, and he said he did not press for details. The Washington Post previously reported that Trump was smuggled out using a catering vehicle while a decoy plane carried journalists and staff. Asked by reporters why window shades were kept down on that flight, Trump responded that he constantly faces threats and suggested those traveling with him would share any danger. The exchange underscores security concerns surrounding the operation; a former Secret Service agent said people aboard the decoy flight may have been put at risk.
