Volodymyr Zelensky: "carried out a unique operation targeting the naval base in Novorossiysk"

Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine conducted a strike on Russia’s Black Sea port of Novorossiysk, aimed at what he described as Moscow’s remaining major naval base in the region. The overnight assault, which he said hit air defenses, piers, and port installations, came amid Ukraine’s use of sea and aerial drones to challenge Russian naval power. The city hosts an oil terminal. Krasnodar’s governor reported hundreds of Ukrainian drones over several coastal areas, with Russian air defenses claiming more than 500 intercepted; authorities said a child was killed, another person died, and over a dozen were wounded. Ukrainian officials reported a Russian overnight barrage of 138 attack drones plus missiles, saying it killed two people in Kherson and destroyed a mall in Zaporizhzhia. Zelensky also cited intelligence of another Russian mobilization and expanded missile/drone production.
