Donald Tusk says "will receive the necessary medical and consular assistance" after Hungary crash

After a bus carrying Polish religious travelers crashed in Hungary, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said he had ordered a special flight to bring survivors home and promised help for everyone affected. The crash happened early Sunday on the M3 motorway near Mezőkeresztes, about 140 kilometers east of Budapest, while the bus was returning from Serbia to Poland. Hungarian authorities reported 12 dead, at least 10 seriously injured, and 37 people with minor injuries. Polish diplomat Andrzej Osiak said five of the injured were in critical condition. The driver was detained, and local media quoted police suggesting he may have fallen asleep. The crash was Hungary’s deadliest road accident since 2003.
