Donald Trump says "without a valid Photo ID" as he pushes voter ID bill
“Earlier this month, India's Chief Election Commissioner, Gyanesh Kumar, asked our administration - How can you have elections in the US without a valid Photo ID? India's last election had 646,000,000 Voters! Less than one per cent voted by mail, and every single Voter had to have a valid photo identity document. We need to pass The Save America Act, now!”

In a Truth Social post on Monday, Donald Trump cited India’s electoral system as he renewed his push for the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, saying India’s chief election commissioner, Gyanesh Kumar, had questioned why US elections do not require a photo ID. Trump pointed to India’s last general election, in which more than 646 million people voted, fewer than one percent by mail, and all voters had photo identification. Kumar had met US Ambassador Sergio Gor on August 12. The SAVE Act would require citizenship proof for registration, impose a national voter ID rule, and limit mail ballots, but the Senate left for recess earlier this month without passing it. India’s foreign ministry defended its electoral process, while Congress party official Pawan Khera said the US should take Kumar and keep him.
