The two sides had previously agreed during Xi’s two‑day visit in early June to expand collaboration in political, economic and cultural fields and to maintain high‑level dialogue. Kim added that the parties’ leadership secures the relationship’s preeminence. The Chinese embassy in Pyongyang hosted a banquet for senior North Korean officials, and the Chinese ambassador said Beijing seeks stronger strategic communication with the North.
