Volodymyr Zelensky says "that strengthens cooperation between our defense sectors" in drone agreement

President Volodymyr Zelensky announced a Norwegian drone agreement on Sunday during a Nordic-Baltic summit in Kyiv, while rejecting a wartime-election proposal from former defence minister Mykhailo Fedorov. Ukraine has suspended voting under martial law since Russia’s 2022 invasion; Zelensky argued that an election during the war would be very risky and could fracture the nation. The statements came as European leaders gathered ahead of Monday’s Ukraine independence day meeting on military support, with Russia intensifying ballistic-missile strikes and Zelensky reporting that deliveries of US Patriot interceptors have fallen. United Nations-verified figures show civilian casualties have increased.
