Donald Trump says Iran officials consult younger Khamenei: "going back to talk to him all the time"

President Trump said Wednesday that he thinks Iran’s supreme leader, the younger Khamenei, survived the American-Israeli attack that killed his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, on February 28. In an interview with Glenn Beck, Trump said the younger Khamenei was gravely injured in that bombardment but is living. Trump also said Iranian officials’ descriptions of continuing to seek Khamenei’s approval on major matters suggest the wounded leader remains engaged. He was responding to reports that officials still confer with Khamenei, whose condition has been in doubt because he has remained out of public view since the strikes. The comments address uncertainty about who holds ultimate authority in Iran after the assault.
