President Trump announced plans for a new Space Academy during a Friday visit to NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston. Trump said the proposed military school would be as prestigious as West Point or the Air Force Academy and would train future leaders for the Space Force, NASA, and the private space industry. The announcement came after he awarded the Congressional Space Medal of Honor to the Artemis II crew for their recent moon flight. Trump also spoke with astronauts aboard the International Space Station, where one crew member touted his mustache in microgravity. The academy would be the first of its kind dedicated to space.
