Donald Trump says “we’re going to have now a Space Force” academy alongside West Point, Annapolis
“You think of West Point, and you think of Annapolis, and you think of the Air Force Academy and you think of the Coast Guard Academy. It’s great. They’re all great, but we’re going to have now a Space Force [academy].”

During a Friday trip to NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, President Trump said he would create a new Space Force academy, describing it as a future military school on par with the nation’s existing service academies. He said the school would have rigorous admissions and train specialists for the Space Force, NASA, and the civilian spaceflight sector, with a location to be chosen soon. Trump made the announcement during a visit that included presenting the Congressional Space Medal of Honor to the Artemis II crew, which circled the moon in April, and later speaking with astronauts aboard the International Space Station. He framed the academy as an addition to West Point, Annapolis, the Air Force Academy, and the Coast Guard Academy.
