Donald Trump says "This is more Corrupt News" on report he was barred from speaking at 9/11 ceremony

President Trump disputed a New York Times report that he would skip the Ground Zero ceremony marking the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks because he was barred from speaking. In a Truth Social post on Friday, August 28, he called the report fabricated, saying speeches are not part of the solemn observance and that the day should focus on victims and their families. The Times, citing four unnamed people, reported that Trump’s team had indicated he hoped to address the ceremony, though politicians have been prohibited from speaking there since 2012. According to the report, Trump is expected at the Pentagon ceremony instead, Vice President JD Vance will represent the administration in New York, and Trump planned to fly to Ireland the next day.
