Donald Trump tells Canadian businesses: "When you move back, there are no TARIFFS!"

President Donald Trump, in a series of Truth Social posts on Sunday, escalated the trade dispute with Canada by saying the U.S. should stop buying Canadian goods unless companies move operations south of the border. He claimed his tariffs rescued the American auto industry and accused Canada of exploiting the U.S. for years. His comments came after bilateral trade negotiations broke down last week and after he renamed Lake Ontario as Lake America, drawing criticism from Ontario Premier Doug Ford. Addressing Canadian businesses, Trump said earlier U.S. governments had prompted companies to leave, and firms that relocated back to America would be exempt from his tariffs. The remarks underscore a sharpening confrontation between the two allies.
