Donald Trump: "Kharg Island being blown to smithereens!!! President DJT,"

President Donald Trump wrote on social media that Iran’s main oil export terminal, Kharg Island, was being destroyed, without providing details. The statement followed U.S. strikes on two rocket launchers on Larak Island, which a U.S. official described as the first known American military action against Iran since late July. Kharg handled 90 percent of Iran’s crude exports before the war triggered by U.S. and Israeli attacks on Feb. 28, so hitting it would severely damage Iran’s energy trade and economy. Reuters said the explosion footage Trump shared was probably AI-generated. Iranian media reported Iran retaliated by firing ballistic missiles at two U.S. bases in Jordan.
