Donald Trump says "Iran is officially a Failed Nation. IT IS DEAD!"

President Trump said Monday on his social platform that Iran is effectively defunct, claiming its military can no longer operate, its currency is worthless, and its security forces are unpaid. His statement came amid sharp U.S.-Iran escalation: American forces hit Iranian launchers on Larak Island after observing preparations to lay sea mines in the Strait of Hormuz, and Iran fired ballistic missiles toward U.S. bases in Jordan, which said it intercepted eight. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Washington may impose additional secondary sanctions weekly, targeting banks. Iran’s president said sanctions and a naval blockade have cut trade by nearly 35%; official data show 66% annual inflation, and the IMF projects further contraction. Analysts differ on whether Tehran is nearing collapse or might escalate.
