“sometimes the Supreme Court makes mistakes”
Vice President JD Vance stated that Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett “made a mistake” in a recent ruling on birthright citizenship, adding that “sometimes the Supreme Court makes mistakes” and that the administration would seek to correct that error. Speaking to reporters after visiting Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia, Vance also declined to comment on possible retirement by Justice Samuel Alito, saying any decision was the justice’s alone. The remarks came amid Vance’s broader update on US-Iran negotiations in Doha, where he described talks as “going well” while warning that President Donald Trump would consider military force if Tehran resumed its nuclear program or attacked commercial shipping.
