Donald Trump: "it doesn’t mean we won’t smack them to see what happens"

Amid reported exchanges, President Trump said the Strait of Hormuz is safe and Iran’s military, economy, and leadership have grown much weaker. But he warned that did not preclude U.S. action. Iran has claimed attacks on U.S. bases in Jordan and on the Emirati Al Menhad airbase, saying they were launched after American forces bombed two rocket launchers on Larak Island. Iran’s state media blamed the island strike for three deaths and several wounded combatants and civilians. The UAE rejected Iran’s claim that the airfield was targeted. Trump’s comment leaves open the possibility of further strikes even while he described the situation as stable.
