During a Tuesday visit to Jerusalem, Democratic Republic of the Congo President Félix Tshisekedi met Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as the two agreed to deepen bilateral economic and security ties. Netanyahu received Tshisekedi at his office and celebrated what he described as a warm friendship between the countries, saying the visit would further reinforce that relationship. Tshisekedi also held talks with Israeli President Isaac Herzog, covering shared concerns including security, along with possible cooperation in areas such as agriculture, water, health, technology and investment. Herzog said Israel regarded Africa as a priority and thanked the Congolese leader for supporting Israel internationally; he also offered help with Congo's development and humanitarian needs. Herzog had traveled to Kinshasa earlier this year.
