Kaja Kallas says on Russia sanctions: "maybe there are more to be added"
“maybe there are more to be added”

Germany blamed Moscow on Tuesday for an attempted strike using an explosives-laden drone discovered on Aug. 4 in a secure zone at Leipzig/Halle Airport near Ukrainian cargo planes. Speaking before an informal gathering of EU foreign ministers in Ireland, foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said the episode fit the pattern of terrorism directed by a state. She also said the bloc was processing about 1,600 sanctions designations related to Russia’s military sector, and further designations were possible. Ministers at the gathering argued for more pressure on Moscow. Germany responded by closing Russia’s consulate in Bonn, ending an arrangement with a Russian cultural center in Berlin, and pushing for additional EU sanctions and visa measures. Russia dismissed the accusations as an invented provocation and promised to respond.
