Donald Trump: "They do not have thousands of people bursting into their country in that way. I…"

Donald Trump, in an interview with British outlet GB News, linked Spain’s migration emergency in Ceuta to his accusation that Madrid is neglecting NATO spending obligations. He said the late-July border surge, when tens of thousands crossed from Morocco into Spain’s North African enclave, showed Spain faces a crisis unlike Britain’s migration pressures, and he called the scenes very sad, reportedly saying Spain could end up ruined. Trump previously faulted Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez’s government over “weak laws” and mismanagement, while repeating a disputed interpretation of a Spanish court ruling that migrants could be returned. The Spanish government has said such false narratives helped spur people to attempt the crossing.
