Trump says Bombardier "must build here" and "stop treating America like a ‘piggybank’"

President Donald Trump said Monday that the Canadian manufacturer Bombardier should be barred from the U.S. aircraft market, contending that Canada restricts American companies even as Bombardier depends on American customers and employees. Writing on Truth Social, he urged the company to build its products in this country rather than treat the United States as a profit source. The broadside is part of a larger U.S.-Canada trade conflict and drew pushback from Sen. Jerry Moran, R-Kan., who said Bombardier employs over 1,000 people in Wichita and contributes to defense and aerospace; he said he had contacted the administration. Bombardier also defended itself as a major American employer and component producer. Canada has retaliatory tariffs on nearly $20 billion in U.S. goods scheduled to take effect Tuesday.
