Marco Rubio says “we’ll get there eventually” about visiting Venezuela
“we’ll get there eventually”

On Tuesday, Secretary of State Marco Rubio opened a three-nation Latin America tour in Colombia, where he met President Abelardo de la Espriella, a conservative who has embraced Washington’s hard-line positions on drugs, migration and energy. The trip comes about a week after the U.S. reached an oil agreement with Venezuelan leadership following the January military operation that ousted Nicolás Maduro. Asked why Venezuela was not on his schedule, Rubio said he could not fit another stop but indicated the country could be visited in the future. He also defended the petroleum agreement, saying the money should go to Venezuelans under a democratically elected government. Rubio planned to travel next to Ecuador.
