Donald Trump says those "against Tariffs are FOOLS"

At the Republican midterm convention in Dallas, President Donald Trump promised a $5,000 payment to every adult U.S. citizen if Republicans keep the House and Senate this fall. The pledge revived an earlier proposal: in a Nov. 9, 2025, social media post, Trump defended tariffs and said a payout of at least $2,000, excluding wealthier Americans, would go to everyone; the next day he said it would target middle- and lower-income people and that remaining tariff money would reduce debt.
