Donald Trump wishes Jewish people a "Happy, Healthy, and Sweet New Year" for Rosh Hashanah

On Friday the White House published a statement from President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump marking the start of the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah. The note conveyed good wishes to Jewish people in the United States and abroad, highlighted the holiday’s biblical roots and its role as the opening of a two‑day period of introspection that culminates in Yom Kippur, and reiterated the administration’s pledge to support religious liberty and combat anti‑Semitism. The message closed with a traditional greeting for a prosperous and healthy new year.
