Marco Rubio says South Africa hasn't done enough on "rural crime, violent and dehumanising rhetoric"
“rural crime, violent and dehumanising rhetoric”

The Trump administration announced visa restrictions on South African officials, citing alleged discrimination against the white minority and warning of more punitive measures. In that dispute, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Pretoria had not done enough about offenses in less-populated regions and about hostile speech toward Afrikaners. South Africa said criminal violence there is not racially targeted. The country records about 60 murders daily, most victims Black, but police data for April through June showed one farm killing, and a farmers’ group’s tallies since 1990 have not supported genocide assertions. The rift also includes disagreements over land-expropriation and Black economic-empowerment laws.
