Donald Trump says we will "cherish it, help it, and watch over it" in new AI force

President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that he plans to create an artificial intelligence-focused force, compared to the Space Force, and appoint a czar to oversee U.S. AI development. He said the aim is to shield the field while letting it advance, not hold it back, and that existing legal systems would address misconduct rather than broad new regulation. Trump described AI as the next Industrial Revolution or internet, projected it could eventually make up as much as a quarter of U.S. GDP, and stressed keeping the country ahead of China and others. He said he will announce his appointee soon.
