JD Vance says Trump is "not banning media outlets" as CNN, MS NOW and Politico sue over press access
“He’s not banning media outlets […] If you’re going to engage in what is essentially far-left propaganda, why would a Republican White House give you special access?”

CNN, MS NOW and Politico sued the government Monday after President Donald Trump said late Friday that they would be kept out of the White House press room over what he called false reporting, and after their journalists reportedly lost entry and credentials Saturday. Asked about the matter Monday, Vice President JD Vance rejected the characterization that the outlets had been barred, defending the administration’s access decisions and asking why a Republican administration would accommodate outlets whose output he opposes. Trump separately described the action as a restriction on the free press, while the outlets contend it violates the First Amendment and due process. The White House press pool and other media organizations suspended cooperative coverage, and a federal judge is set to hear the case Wednesday.
