Donald Trump says he is weighing a deal with Iran or to "annihilate the Islamic Republic"
“I have a big decision to make. Will a deal be made with Iran that lets them rebuild and create a far greater country than it ever was before â maybe one of the greatest in the Middle East or even the world? Or do I annihilate the Islamic Republic, and do it quickly, never giving them a chance to kill and destroy again? Do I drive them into hell with no chance of survival and no hope of future greatness?”

Donald Trump said a day before Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian’s UN General Assembly speech on Wednesday that he was weighing two possible approaches to Iran: a diplomatic agreement or swift military action against the Iranian government. Pezeshkian used his address to respond, saying Iranians had themselves been victimized by terrorism, condemning U.S. strikes, displaying photos of an Iranian school and sports complex, and saying children died in joint U.S.-Israeli attacks. He also said Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was assassinated on the first day of those strikes, accused Washington of failing to respect international law, criticized Israel, and said Iran needed atomic power rather than a weapon. The U.S. delegation left while he spoke.
