Benjamin Netanyahu says he will "to tell the truth about our heroic soldiers" in video to NYC mayor

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is slated to give a United Nations address and to send a video message to New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani, who has publicly called the Israeli leader a war‑crimes suspect. In the video, Netanyahu says he will travel to New York to offer his version of events concerning Israeli forces and to counter the mayor’s accusations, claiming the mayor supports Hamas. Mamdani, who campaigned on a promise to pursue Netanyahu’s arrest for alleged crimes, later said he lacked the legal authority to do so and has described the prime minister as responsible for a genocide against Palestinians. Netanyahu, who denies any wrongdoing, is making a brief visit ahead of a possible October election and amid heightened diplomatic pressure following Israel’s Gaza campaign and an ICC arrest warrant.
