Donald Trump says U.S. will do something in Greenland "whether they like it or not"
“we are going to do something [there] whether they like it or not”

A deal signed Tuesday in New York by Denmark, Greenland's government and the United States wraps up ten months of negotiations over the Arctic island. President Donald Trump, who had earlier said the U.S. needed Greenland and declined to rule out seizing it by force, claims the agreement leaves him with lasting authority there and provides for reopening two additional American military bases. The European Commissioner for Defence and Space, Andrius Kubilius, said Copenhagen is presenting the outcome as a success, chiefly because it strips out wording Europeans viewed as unacceptable — language implying Greenland should belong to the U.S. on security grounds. He said those disputes have now been settled.
