Donald Trump says Russia-Ukraine conflict is "ridiculous and never ending"
“ridiculous and never ending”

During the U.N. General Assembly high-level week in New York, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky opened his address by citing a Truth Social post from U.S. President Donald Trump. Trump had written that Russian forces lost command of their diesel fuel sector amid the war, following Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian energy targets, and called for the Russia-Ukraine conflict to end. Zelensky said he agreed with Trump’s call and asserted that he knew of no other world leader who would object to stopping the fighting except Russian President Vladimir Putin. Zelensky also said he was prepared for a three-way meeting involving Ukraine, Russia, and the United States, but indicated Putin was not. He used the speech to seek continued international backing for Ukraine and noted new defense arrangements with Finland and Australia, with talks underway with Canada.
