Netanyahu says Israel will "not stop until Hamas no longer exists in the Gaza Strip"

Israel's military said it killed four members of Hamas's military wing in Gaza, including a commander it says took part in the Oct. 7, 2023, attack and later held Israeli hostages. The military said those targeted were planning attacks and rebuilding Hamas, calling this a ceasefire violation. Palestinian agency WAFA reported several deaths from Israeli strikes in Gaza on Thursday, and Israel said it destroyed a two-kilometer tunnel. A ceasefire has technically been in place since October 2025, though deadly strikes have continued and Israel has recently intensified operations against senior Hamas figures. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu this week reaffirmed his goal for the Gaza campaign. Under a US-backed plan, both sides must stop fighting, with Israeli troops limited to responding to particular threats in self-defense. Israel also reported two soldiers died Thursday in a drone accident.
