Donald Trump says Iran "CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON!!!" as he rejects truce offer

President Donald Trump turned down an Iranian plan for a weeklong truce and reopening of the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for easing penalties, telling reporters at the White House that he refused it and that U.S. forces held the strategic waterway. The offer sought relief without Tehran abandoning its nuclear work, and CBS News said it included reviving nuclear negotiations; AP said it sought an end to a U.S. maritime blockade of Iranian ports, suspension of penalties on Iranian petroleum exports and a truce extending to Lebanon. Trump said Washington would accept only the full elimination of Iran's nuclear program and stressed that position in a Truth Social post. An Iranian official reportedly said Tehran would not bend on its nuclear work or its right to enrich uranium, and that the waterway would remain shut until conditions were met.
