Benjamin Netanyahu says passenger "managed to break into the cockpit" on diverted flydubai flight

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has described a passenger’s account of the struggle aboard a flydubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv that was diverted to Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, on Wednesday. Netanyahu said one pilot stabbed the other and apparently tried to bring down the aircraft, naming Indian captain Smit Machchhar as the wounded pilot and praising him. He said a passenger told him how the attacker was overcome with crew help. Flydubai said both pilots were hurt and other crew landed the plane safely. Netanyahu said Saudi authorities arrested and questioned the suspect. The UAE is investigating, and the airline says the cause is not yet established. His remarks drew accusations that he was politicizing the incident for election advantage.
