Vladimir Putin, on Nato warning over Kaliningrad, says: "everything is written correctly"
“everything is written correctly”

At the Valdai Club forum on Thursday, Vladimir Putin was asked whether Russia and Nato were on the brink of war or merely trying to frighten each other. He rejected the latter framing and stood by an earlier written warning sent to Nato. That message, issued through Russian embassies including in Ireland, said Moscow could deploy its entire arsenal, including nuclear arms, if Nato moved to cut Kaliningrad off from Russia. Nato confirmed receiving it, criticized any threats involving force, said the alliance is defensive and does not target Kaliningrad, and pressed Moscow to halt its war in Ukraine. The dispute centers on the Baltic exclave between Poland and Lithuania, where Russia bases military assets, amid Nato exercises nearby.
