Donald Trump says Annie Andrews "is in favor of Trangender for Everyone" on transgender care

In a Monday evening Truth Social post, President Donald Trump targeted Annie Andrews, a Democratic Senate candidate in South Carolina, using a derogatory term aimed at transgender people three times and criticizing her position on transgender-related care. Trump endorsed Republican Darline Graham, describing her as a high-quality person and giving his complete support. Andrews, a pediatrician, has said she supports transgender children and gender-affirming care, while also saying she does not believe biological men should compete in women’s sports and has not supported or performed gender surgery on minors. Andrews did not respond directly to Trump, but posted that she is running to advocate for patients, her three children, and South Carolina. Former South Carolina Gov. David Beasley criticized Trump’s remarks and said political disagreements should remain civil.
