Russian forces carried out a large overnight missile and drone attack on Ukraine that Ukrainian officials say killed at least 20 people, including children, with the deadliest strike hitting a five-story apartment block in Pryluky in the northern Chernihiv region, where at least 14 residents died. President Volodymyr Zelensky said the assault involved about 70 missiles, many of them ballistic, and coincided with Vladimir Putin's birthday. He said those ballistic weapons remain the most difficult threat and that obtaining Patriot interceptors remains a constant focus for his team. Roughly 50 people were wounded, and the EU released €1.2 billion toward Ukraine's defense needs. Russia's defense ministry said it struck military-industrial facilities.
