President Donald Trump announced Friday that Katie Zacharia will serve as White House press secretary, filling the post vacant since Karoline Leavitt left in August after maternity leave. Trump praised her on his social‑media account, highlighting her long‑time support of his agenda and labeling her a devoted MAGA backer. He made additional comments during a South Lawn press briefing before heading to a New York rally, saying he trusts her performance. Zacharia, a senior communications adviser for Trump Media & Technology Group, previously held short stints at the Department of Homeland Security, assisted Trump’s campaign in swing states, and has appeared as a commentator on multiple news networks. In a post on X, she described the role as a career milestone and said she intends to communicate the administration’s accomplishments to the media and public.
