Donald Trump says "Both parties have agreed" on energy‑infrastructure ceasefire
“Both parties have agreed. Do not break it!”

On Sunday, President Donald Trump said a ceasefire covering attacks on energy infrastructure would begin at once in the Russia-Ukraine war, but Moscow did not immediately confirm it and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told Axios he had not known about it. Zelenskyy said Ukraine would accept such a halt if Russia did, and asked when it would start if Trump had arranged it with Putin. Trump made a similar claim a month earlier while strikes on energy sites continued. The statement followed a U.S. deal to ease sanctions on Russian fuel for diesel shipments and Trump's call for Ukraine to replace Zelenskyy. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and French President Emmanuel Macron backed Zelenskyy's call for such a halt, with Macron saying Russia was still rejecting it.
