Andy Burnham says "the football issues are different from the investment issues" in Man City case

The request followed criticism of Burnham’s remarks that he would be worried if the club’s Abu Dhabi owners left and his description of them as a major partner in Manchester’s development. An independent commission found City breached Premier League financial rules between 2009 and 2018; the club denies wrongdoing and is appealing. Downing Street said Burnham views the judgment as serious and that those responsible for proven misconduct should face consequences. Burnham, speaking on a podcast, said the regulatory case against the club should be considered separately from its ownership links and that the independent process must finish.
