JD Vance says of Omar home search: "if there’s a real case there, we’re going to follow the facts"
“And again, if there’s a real case there, we’re going to follow the facts. If there's not a real case there, then we won't”

After federal agents searched Rep. Ilhan Omar’s Washington, D.C., residence, Vice President JD Vance told reporters Tuesday that serious claims concerning Omar have been made and that officials would review them, proceeding only if they have merit. The raid has raised questions about its basis and drew Democratic accusations that President Donald Trump is using federal authorities to retaliate against critics, with an election roughly a month away. Trump said the matter rested with the Justice Department but criticized Omar at an Ohio rally. Records indicate Omar entered the country as a refugee from Somalia and naturalized in 2000 while still a minor, at 17; questions have emerged about her documents. A former U.S. attorney said a judge must find probable cause for such a search. Omar vowed to continue speaking out.
