Donald Trump says "TOTAL FAKE NEWS" of Politico report on chief of staff succession

President Donald Trump on Thursday denied a Politico report that he was weighing whether to replace his chief of staff, Susie Wiles. The outlet, citing four sources, reported that Trump had been seeking allies’ advice about a possible change and had several candidates in mind. A Republican operative reportedly told Trump that Wiles had upset numerous people in the administration, and Yahoo News named Steve Witkoff and Bill Pulte as possible successors. In a statement to The Hill, Trump rejected the story and expressed strong support for Wiles, describing her as a dependable aide who has worked with him for a long time. Wiles, who was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year and later received a “Woman of Valor” award, has continued working. Wiles is the president’s chief of staff, a top White House role.
