Elon Musk says new Tesla Roadster is a "candidate for greatest product demo of all time"

Elon Musk presented Tesla’s next-generation Roadster on Friday evening at SpaceX’s Texas test complex in McGregor, capping nearly a decade of promotion. In a roughly 30-minute event, the white vehicle climbed a large inclined ramp, drove inverted, rotated, engaged rocket boosters to become airborne, and landed amid smoke. Musk said engineers from Tesla and SpaceX worked together on it. Testers reportedly measured a 0-to-100 km/h sprint of 0.81 seconds, and engineers estimated a top speed of about 370 km/h; Musk said he wanted roughly half the speed of sound. Production is planned for 2028, no price was announced, and Musk said the car would be available to buy.
