Donald Trump tells France to "Close your Borders" in Truth Social post on migration policy

On Sunday, U.S. President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social blaming immigration for France’s unrest and pressing the country to change its migration policy. The unrest followed countrywide protests over living costs and school conditions that attracted hundreds of thousands; authorities reported at least 1,800 arrests and damage to shops and public buildings, including a fire that collapsed the roof of Limoges City Hall. President Emmanuel Macron called an emergency government meeting and planned a national address. The turmoil has added pressure on Macron ahead of next spring’s presidential election. French authorities have not linked immigrants to the violence and have blamed some disorder on far-left radicals and others who joined in looting. Trump’s remarks followed similar comments by Vice President JD Vance.
