Benjamin Netanyahu says "complete the mission" while thanking Trump for endorsement

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a statement in Hebrew on X after President Donald Trump endorsed him with Israel’s election approaching, thanking Trump for his support and for their cooperation; Netanyahu’s Likud Party paired it with a short video of the two men. Israelis vote Oct. 27 in the first national election since the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas attack, and the contest is expected to be close. Trump had withheld the endorsement for months as the allies’ Middle East approaches diverged. Its effect is unclear; Trump remains popular in Israel, though some Israelis and commentators reportedly have voiced disappointment over the inconclusive Iran war and a ceasefire proposal. Trump also warned about Iran and said he might be less inclined to act if Netanyahu lost.
