Donald Trump says "BIBI NETANYAHU WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN" before Israeli vote

US President Donald Trump publicly backed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday, nine days before Israel’s October 27 parliamentary vote, in a Truth Social post. The move followed Trump’s earlier refusal to discuss Netanyahu’s job performance in a Time interview. Netanyahu’s Likud-led far-right coalition is in a close race against an opposition bloc led by Gadi Eisenkot. Trump praised Netanyahu and cited his role as a US partner in the Iran conflict, though the two have reportedly disagreed over Lebanon and other conflicts, and Trump acknowledged a June phone call in which he insulted Netanyahu. Trump told Axios his support had never been in doubt and that he had only waited to announce it; Netanyahu thanked him. The endorsement lands amid a tight Israeli campaign and domestic US concern over the Iran war’s costs.
